Peter Bergmann, CEO, Sisters of Charity Hospital and John
Ecklund, General Manger, Walden Galleria have joined the
Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and will serve
three-year terms through June 2013.
We look forward to working with Peter and John!
As
we welcome two new Board Members, we also say a sad farewell to three
Board Members – Jim Boy, Roberts Shackleton & Boy Architects
& Engineers, PC; Paul Christ, Bank of Akron and Nancy
Michalski, Sam’s Club.

over the years! We will
miss you!
Our
thanks to Sue and Tom Strauss and the staff of Broadway Driving
Range and Miniature Golf for hosting the Family Fun Night
on Thursday, August 19! This
is a great family fun event for our Chamber members, their families
and friends! We always enjoy a fun night playing golf and the
hospitality of the staff at Broadway Driving Range and Miniature
Golf is outstanding!
On
Wednesday, August 25, Tom Minnick, Vice President, Human
Resources from the Business Council of New York State, will
host a two-hour Human Resources legislative briefing consisting of a
general discussion of the Human Resource Legislation effective in 2010
and related human resource issues. Some of the topics to be discussed
are mandated sick and other time off proposals, “bullying”
legislation, electronic
employee monitoring restrictions, access to personnel file
requirements, unemployment insurance tax base and benefit increases, the
status of NYS paid family leave and pay equity proposals and COBRA
and mini-COBRA insurance changes including the Federal ARRA subsidy.
The meeting will be held at Erie 1 BOCES, 355 Harlem Road from
